Learnings

In 2020, I (GM) approached the new owner of Blue Kangaroo, and asked if I could manage the Instagram and Facebook to increase digital presence and gain social media management skills. The Instagram platform being used had only 387 followers, posting was extremely inconsistent, and engagement was low. By the time I left in 2023, we had a highly engaged audience of about 2,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook.

 

This was the first time I was ever managed a brand's social media; the ultimate "learn as I go" experience. I encouraged people to share images and tag the cafe to expand reach, collaborated with local businesses, posted daily stories to engage with our audience regularly, promoted national holidays, presented the owners' causes they supported, created "day-in-the-life" videos, captured behind the scenes moments in the cafe, and more.
